I have been speaking about the revolution of social media especially the new one , and how those tools can change the International Information Order.
And I wanted to start this blogs series speaking about the new journalism and new media are my first step . here we are !
Let’s describe the new journalists or the reporters well they are not traditional journalists but they do almost the same things the normal journalists do,
It start when you have a mobile phone , camera, laptop, tablet or any gadget that can be connected to the internet and you use them to be a reporter or a journalist , blogging , discussions , forums , photo, videos ,sharing sites , or streaming sites are the places where u can speak in life.
The diffusion is the most hard part, but with the new media nothing is impossible, First let’s speak about the caracteristics of these medias.
1- Immediacy :
Insitant messengers , now we can speak about insitant news photos , sounds ……
Can be uploaded in life or can be transmitted in the moment they are happening by the use of the tools we said it lately and now who is the master of the informations , and who can be the source and ressource , the big agencies or just that normal citizen or that military guy who is in the right place and the right moment .
This is one of the most important caracateristic of the social media or what we call the citizen journalism and sometimes journalism 2.0 .
2- Speed :
If we speak about immediacy we should certainly speak about speed .
Speed !how ?because of the tools we use and the way we diffuse , we do not need any kind of traditional normal media operations that include treatment , analysing , going to studios …..
We can speak about three steps here , take upload /stream and share (diffusion)
This is for video or photo or sounds , and it’s almost for other forms , so you do not need to go to the studio and make all the routine ….well we should speak about the live video streamig from cell phones.
3-Audiance :
A single blogger can touch a large audiance , large and specific , the audiance is really important , the the buzzactions in the different socail net work uyou can have audiance from everywhere but be sure they will be interested in what are you broadcasting .
Next time I will speak about more characteristics : Digitality, democratic, cheap and more more characteristics ,interactivity …
