The title "Free Speech For The Dumb" was originally released by Discharge in 1982 on their album "Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing" and it was covered by metallica .. I guess this song is very interesting the way they express what I want to say by just a simple sentence : yes one liner repeated in the hole song, and the meaning is really clear … we are dumps and we need freedom of speech on of our vital needs is to express what we thing about publicly ..
I was preparing a presentation about free speech and it gave me the idea to write something , I was always thinking about when we speak as regards free speech and freedom in general here in my area, in my country , well I should write this blog despite his oldness and everybody can say it in here, maybe I don’t know there is no scientific affirmation of this, but it still a reality, an ideology, there is no statistics but we can feel it and pass judgement, it’s all about languages, yes languages the efficient tools we use in our writing and speech to diffuse our ideas.
In Morocco the language can show us too many contradictions; contradictions that we live by and on, this is it! You can write in English what you can’t write in French, you can write in French what you can’t write in Arabic, classic Arabic, you can write in classic Arabic what you couldn’t write in Moroccan dialect, one chain from too many that it creates contradictions for speakers or listeners.
It doesn’t end here with language here is another one: we should speak about medias used now, here is the chain: you can say what you want in blogs, the blogosphere is free due to the “hardness of the control in the web “… well and here start the real contradictions you can say.
What if we speak about science, what if we discuss a different jargon? How could people understanding us, how could we communicate? How we can translate our opinions to the whole world? does democracy exist when there is no communication, if the free speech is one of the pillar of democracy in any State, how could it be if we don’t express what we have in our language, it’s not a philosophical issue it’s very simple it’s kind of miss understanding wanted to be, so don’t understand what they say:” you will be fine”.
Why we speak about these old and complicated ideas? cause the first step to the lead, the first step to the leadership constriction and the elite that can lead us is to fight ignorance and to speak how can we fight the disease if we don’t speak about it with the language we understand the most let’s break the wrong chain and let’s build a better one a solid one.
This is a brief introduction to how the social/new medias can change the way of the free speech, this is why I write about it and this is why I will write the second part of the blog I wrote “ previously Ch.2 New Media : the characteristics ! ( first part ) “
And one of the big characteristics of the new media is that, it open to you a closed doors of the freedom of speech, so let’s be a content producers not just manager or receivers .
